Admission Steps, Timetable & Cost

Our day programs can be complementary to your current mental health plan.

Admission Steps

1) Talk to your Psychiatrist
Each day you attend a Day Program, you are admitted under the care of one of our psychiatrists. Therefore, your psychiatrist must complete an assessment before you join one of our groups. If you have not seen a Psychiatrist from the Wollongong Clinic before, you will need to send us a referral from your GP. Your GP can send the referral form online via the day programs admission tab on the webpage.

2) Pre Assessment

Your psychiatrist will meet with you to complete an assessment. Together, you will discuss the best course of treatment to suit your needs. The psychiatrist will send a referral form to the Day Programs team.

3) Contact
Once the Day Program team have received your referral, they will contact you to arrange a start date and conduct a Private Health Insurance check to calculate your out of pocket cost.

4) Admission
South Coast Private Hospital Reception staff will greet you on the day of your program. Our staff will assist you in any admission paperwork and payment of the program. Please arrive 30 minutes before your program starts.

Patients are admitted as a day patient and as such, can claim via their health fund. If a patient is receiving treatment through Worker’s Compensation or MAA, we can assist in requesting approval from the insurer. Please note: Different rules apply for each health fund. Our day programs clinical coordinator will advise you on any out-of-pocket expenses or gap costs from your health fund provider.
