Australian Defence Force

South Coast Private runs two types of programs for Australian Defence Force personnel with PTSD symptoms. The initial group therapy program provides a psycho-educative format by which patients develop insight into the nature of PTSD, symptom management, interpersonal sequelae, and relapse prevention. The group program also provides a stepping stone to the more intensive trauma processing program described below.

We have adopted an innovative approach to the management of PTSD in accordance with the National Guidelines for the Treatment of PTSD. Eligible patients are provided with intensive inpatient one-2-one treatment using trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (for PTSD).
