We have a trusted network of leading mental health practitioners from within the Illawarra and across NSW. We are closely aligned with the Wollongong Hospital public mental health unit and we share and collaborate openly in the welfare of our patients.

South Coast Private Hospital is affiliated with a diverse range of national and regional mental health focused charities and organisations. We are active supporters of The Australian Defence Force, Emergency Services, The Returned and Services League (RSL), Homes for Heroes, Soldier On, Vietnam Veterans Association of Australia, NSW Police, and the NSW Rotary Club.

Training and Education

South Coast Private supports innovation in health research and training. The hospital collaborates with the University of Wollongong to facilitate clinical and non-clinical student placements for medical, nursing, psychology, nutrition/dietetics and exercise physiology.


On 13 April 2017, Healthe Care Australia (“Healthe Care”), Australia’s third largest corporate private hospital operator and pan-Asian health care services group acquired Evolution Healthcare’s three Illawarra hospitals: Shellharbour Private Hospital, South Coast Private Hospital and Wollongong Day Surgery.
